Assistant Vice President - Claims
Art Long is Assistant Vice President of the Claims Services Division of JDW Insurance and Risk & Insurance Management Consultants (RIMC). Mr. Long received a Bachelors degree from Rutgers University. He joined JDW in 1998 and has over 23 years of experience in the insurance industry. He has earned the Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Claims (AIC) & Workers’ Compensation Claims Law Associate (WCCLA) designations. He is currently licensed as a claims adjuster in Texas and New Mexico.
Mr. Long is also experienced in claims procedures for employers that are Non-Subscribers to Texas Workers Compensation. In 1997, he was actively involved in the investigation, evaluation and administration of specific Occupational Accident Plan claims of various clients. Since 1998, he has been actively consulting with RIMC clients on various PLAN ‘roll-outs’, claim investigation and processing, medical management and wage benefit payment procedures. He has consulted various RIMC clients on claims procedures and PLAN provisions for numerous Occupational Accident PLAN providers to include: Mt Hawley, Lexington, Philadelphia American, CIA and USSIC.
Mr. Long was also Claims Manager of the El Paso office and later, Regional Claims Manager of the Third Party Administrator Division of Cunningham Lindsey Claims Management Services. He was a multi-line claims adjuster with the Hartford Insurance Company and Commercial Union Insurance for several years and has also worked as an Independent Claims adjuster providing claims services for numerous insurance companies. He is a past President of the El Paso Claims Association.
The Claims Management Services Team is staffed with 2 support claims representatives to assist the client in reporting, processing and finalizing claims; together they have a combined total of over 25 years of insurance experience.
